Beatrice

Name: Beatrice

Born on: 1970s

Note: She is a Furga doll from the Dames line. She is the largest of my vintage dolls (58 cm tall), with her refined lace dress and sweet, slightly shy gaze. She has a calm, almost ethereal aura, and seems to listen to everything that happen around her. One of her legs has a small flaw, a little looser than the other: this forces her to slow down, giving her an uncertain gait, but it also makes her attentive to details that most people overlook. She collects the thoughts that remain suspended, the secrets waiting to be voiced, even the anxieties, and guards them with her delicacy, turning them into something tender.
I see her as a gentle guardian of slowness. There is something truly therapeutic about her every time I look at her.

What she loves:

The sunsets
Listening to the invisible
Writing letters to everything
Listening to music on old cassettes
Old, non-working phones
The sound of the pencil scratching softly on the paper
The hands that gently comb her hair, without combs, running their fingers through her curls
Small cracks in porcelain objects, like golden veins that tell the story of life
The mid-seasons, when there is that perfect, light coolness that caresses her skin
